History of Ulysse Nardin traces back to 1846 when Ulysse Nardin established his brand. Sea chronographs produced by the company were of highquality and this contributed to great success of Ulysse Nardin.
Up to the middle of the 20th century these big chronographs in wooden boxes had great success in many countries of the world.
Then electronics replaced sea instruments. This was the reason why the brand started manufacture of collector’s wristwatches instead of sea chronographs. In 1983 the company was bought by Rolf Schneider. Rolf Schneider is not involved in watch making, nevertheless, being an outstanding organizer Rolf Schneider began cooperation with the most outstanding watch makers, such as Ludwig Oechslin.
