There are ways of having some good designer clothes in your wardrobe without having to contact your bank manager about it and how you do that is by looking around for second hand shops and also a type of shop usually called ‘seconds’.

The shops called ‘seconds’ have on sale but at a much reduced price, all sorts of designer clothes that aren’t perfect enough to be sold through their normal outlets. Maybe there is a button missing, or the zip is faulty, or there is a slight tear somewhere. And because of these defects they are put on sale in these so called ‘seconds’ shops and most often than not at more than half the price of what it would have cost if it had been perfect. So if you are prepared to do a little sewing or mending you could come away with something quite special.
Then there are the second hand shops where the clothes that are handed in may have been worn before once or twice or sometimes never ever been worn but the owners don’t want them any more. Before these shops accept any garment they make sure that it is clean and in good condition and then they decide what price to put on it. Usually the prices are very low for normal high street clothes and then every now and then when some one brings in a designer piece it will be priced a little higher than the rest of the clothes, but not all that much higher. So you could well find something interesting in one of these second hand shops as well.
And last but not least there are the Oxfam shops where everything is really cheap and whereas it’s not that often that designer clothes are brought in, it’s well worth going in to have a look just in case.
